Why do People commit the same mistakes again and again?
I know someone who is hypertensive, and that someone keeps on committing the mistake of eating the foods that are forbidden for his health. Why? Is it because he is not knowledgeable of the foods that are forbidden? Perhaps, it is so. Is it because the lure of the forbidden food is so strong? Maybe so. But I think, the strongest reason why people commit the same mistake of eating the foods that are forbidden, is that few believe in the reality of the consequences, until the real consequence is felt and experienced, so that it is time for him to believe that the consequence is real, credible, painful, inconvenient, prevents one from doing and living a normal life, making that someone extremely frustrated and unhappy about the situation, or perhaps even angry at oneself, why he or she did not adhere to the better counsel of the wizard or doctor earlier in time. This thing happens everyday, and many think they are invincible. That they are exceptions, until the day that situations and events catch up with them. Prevention is always better than cure. There are generally known consequences of certain actions, like smoking, alcoholism, abuse of physical stamina, etc. There are always some exceptions, of course, but believing that you are among those exceptions, is risky and dangerous for your health. It’s just like charging against a wave of machine gun fire in front of you, without clear cover, and hoping that you don’t get hurt. Lessons learned? Be prudent and exercise the necessary precautions, whenever needed. Health is wealth. Man is the temple of God. The body has to be respected being the temple of God. Ones limitations should be recognized. Unnecessary risk taking is not always called for. We eat to live! Not to live in order to eat. Try to be rational in your thinking and behavior. Try to learn from the experiences of others. You do not have to fall from a high tree or building before you learn the consequences. Others have already done that, and I hope you do learn your lessons very well from their experiences.

Peace and Politics!
Peace and Politics!
In the many civil wars of the different countries that experienced it, and in the two World Wars, we all know the value of Peace and Quiet. War and strife destroy the economy, lives and limbs, and create an increment for conditions of poverty. Peace provides the better alternative of prosperity, economic progress, and freedom from fear. Has the people of the world forgotten so easily from the memoirs of history on the value of Peace? Maybe the older generations failed to inculcate in the minds of the young what value Peace and Quiet bring to every community and nation that possesses it. Let us teach every youth what it is, so that this land shall remain peaceful and prosperous for the benefit of the citizenry and the general public that wishes to get on with their economic activities. Let the lessons of the past be real lessons that are learned, not only by those who experienced the past, but by the new generation as well, so that the sorry state of the past are not brought back by lack of understanding and appreciation of how strife destroys a nation of prosperity of the present time and of the future. Let Politics learn its own lessons, as well.

No strings attached!
No strings attached!
Some people appear to be helpful only on the surface, or could be real Philanthropists from the very essence of their acts. Deep under, however, some men stand to gain out of their acts. This may not be a direct form of strings that are attached to the good acts, nevertheless, a gain is realized in return.
When you are lending resources to friends, without any expected returns or “kick-back,” you would most likely be thinking only of the welfare of the other party, and a truly good Samaritan, in thoughts and in deed.
In a world of extreme materialism, however, seldom does a thing like that happens. So, when being at the receiving end, be wary of the payment in return or be aware of the possibilities, but must not suffer the paranoia for such awareness.

Lending out resources!
Lending out resources!
When lending resources to friends, it is important that you consider the possibility that the items being borrowed may not be returned on schedule, or you may even entirely lose these things, due to certain unforeseen events or circumstances. One important lesson therefore, that you can learn from these types of transactions is the experience that resources may never come back to you on time at all. In view of these, one should consider therefore, when lending that the loss or delay in the return of these things should not jeopardize your own programs and activities. In short you should ask yourself this question: “Can you afford to lose the particular resources that you allowed to be borrowed?” If you can not, then it is best that you do not lend such resources, unless you can afford to suffer the inconvenience that will possibly result. Often times, the destruction of friendships are brought about by tying your own programs to these transactions, and the resulting inconvenience being experienced thereafter. Nobody can be fully certain of future events.

Cutting of Trees!
Cutting of trees was once a rampant activity and a lucrative industry in many provinces in the island of Mindanao. In fact, many enterprising people became millionaires during the industry's glorious days. With the thinning of the forest, however, and slow reforestation, the industry left its mark in the history with tragic landslides, and devastation of homes and lives of the citizenry. What a painful lesson it was for everyone affected. Let no one therefore commit the same mistake of removing a vital forest cover that brings danger to lives and properties.
